Angela Evelyn Bassett (born April 15 1960) is an American actor. Her name has been praised for her TV and film work since the 1980s. The awards she has won are the two Golden Globe Awards, sixteen NAACP Image Awards as well as nominations for Academy Awards and Primetime Emmy Awards. Bassett was born in New York New York and fostered by an aunt in Winston-Salem North Carolina. Bassett and her sister, who were about five years old, emigrated out of New York and into St. Petersburg to live with their mother, who was the separated father. Bassett was in high school when she saw the James Earl Jones staring John Steinbeck play Of Mice and Men and was aware that her goal of being an actor had come true. Yale University New Haven Connecticut gave her a bachelor's degree (1980) which was in African American study, and an honorary doctorate (1983) in the Yale School of Drama. Courtney B. Vance was also an actor at Yale. The couple got married in 1997. Qualification: B.A. degree in African-American studies in 1981. Masters of Fine Arts from Yale School of Drama School. Angela Bassett has been cast in the lead role of Ramonda in the action-adventure movie, i.e. Black Panther Wakanda forever 2022.
